you thought you'd managed to escape it, didn't you? you thought i'd forgotten all about it. WELL.
today for lunch, i ate some porridge. THE EXPERIMENT LIVES! the work cupboards were pretty bare, and i had no cash for the shops. what to do, what to do?
as (i think)
1423 suggested: porridge and cuppasoup.
mixed veg cuppasoup, to be precise. there was a leek an potato option, but it sounded too stodgy.
results? it tastes alright, yes. consistency-wise, though, ugh. baby food.

are you on facebook? are you my facebook friend? do you like wasting your life away? why not join MAFIA WARS so i can get a bigger mafia and subsequently manage to buy property and DECENT GUNS. i am being held back! pls be helping me out.

it's funny how the day goes so much faster when i'm actually working, and not just loafing about. hilarious.

egg porridge?? how were you supposed to do it?
best so far: when porridge cooked (in microwave) mix in grated cheese, marmite, and chopped spring onions.
The egg one was fairly straight forward: make scrambled egg mixture as you normally would in a saucepan (perhaps a little more milk/water), mix in some oats + salt/pepper, and scramble.
I heard once that Scottish miners used to take semi-dried cakes of porridge to work with them which was mixed through with onion and pepper.
Oh, the possibilities.
i find throwing in a bit of veg (spring onions / kale) helps break up the soggy texture. am limited in my experiments though as i do them at work - with only a microwave and kettle as cooking implements!
i was after tommy guns, but got a windfall from someone else in my mafia (still not entirely sure how it works!) and splurged.
i think i may have looted a tactical shotgun! do you need it for jobs? i can see if i can gift it?

my experiments are pretty basic mind - i only have a microwave and kettle in the office to work with.
i tried chilli mackerel fillets and kale and rather liked it. the internet said "bleurgh".
